Gairloch and Plockton Educational Trust

The Howard Doris Fund was established in 1997 for the benefit of the pupils of Gairloch and Plockton High Schools. It was reorganised into an educational trust in 2014.

It is part of The Highland Council Charitable Trusts, which is looked after by Highland Council elected members.


The Gairloch and Plockton Educational Trust Scheme covers Gairloch High School and Plockton High School.

To be eligible to apply for funding from the Gairloch and Plockton Educational Trust, you must be

  • a current pupil of either school,
  • a former pupil who has left school in the last year, or
  • applying on behalf of either school

The following awards may be made:

  • Travel Grants (open to individuals and schools)

Special payments to schools annually (no application form is required)

  • Musical Equipment
  • Sports Equipment
  • Other equipment or facilities
  • Maintenance Allowance (for one pupil)
