Inverness-shire Educational Trust

The Inverness-shire Educational Trust Scheme started in 1932.

There are a number of endowments from generous benefactors over the years to support individual young people, schools and community groups.

It is part of The Highland Council Charitable Trusts, which is looked after by Highland Council elected members.


The Inverness-shire Educational Trust Scheme covers the areas of Badenoch and Strathspey, the City of Inverness, the Isles of Skye or Raasay, Lochaber and Nairnshire.

To be eligible to apply for funding from the Inverness-shire Educational Trust, you must be

  • from, or reside in, the areas shown above, or
  • a school or community group

Funding streams are available for individuals, schools and community groups.
